Just so you guys know that we don’t discriminate here at SevenPack, I’ve decide to review this here light beer that I’m drinking. Now, I know we don’t hit the light beer circuit too often, but I think there is a time and a place for everything. And, if you find yourself in the time and place for a light beer, you could certainly do worse than Amstel. This beer isn’t too heavy on flavor – it has a traditional lager bitterness and just a slight hop twang. Generally, the flavor comes and goes quickly and you’re on to the next sip. The good thing about this one is that it’s quite thirst-quenching, rather crisp, and it doesn’t hit you with the disconcerting metallic skunky flavor that you’ll get from most of our domestic light beers. Also, just so I cover the bases, I should tell you that this pours a light yellow and smells lightly sour. Overall, I’m a fan of this beer. It’s great for playing bocce on a warm summer day or for doing home maintenance on a cool Sunday night.
