This is the second of the Weltenburger beers I tried. The Klosterbraurei Weltenburger brewery is the oldest monastery brewery in the world, so they have had plenty of time to hone their craft. Well, they didn’t take advantage of their headstart. Weltenburger has successfully made another disappointing beer. The initial taste is quite unique and not that bad. It is fruity, highly carbonated, and similar to white wine. But then it completely disappears, kinda like one of those breath strips but without the minty fresh sensation. To the Weltenburger brewery I have to say I would be hard pressed to buy another of your beers.

The Asam-bock has a typical doppel smell, sweet of berries. I expected to enjoy this beer, but I cannot appreciate the intense metallic aftertaste. At this present moment it is a bit heavier than I wanted, and so I am disappointed with the purchase. I will say this beer got better toward the end of the glass but that could be attributed to the fact that I didn’t have to drink much more.
