Brooklyn Fortitude

This, like the wondrous Cuvee D’Achouffe, is a limited edition delight from my good friends on North 11th Street. I tried this from the tap at Mug’s Ale House on Bedford Ave (amazing place, by the way, with great beer and great food). It was late one night this weekend, after a few other beers at a few other bars, and I wasn’t about to take any notes, so here’s what I can see through the beer-clouded haze that fills my memory:

Light of golden hue and heavy of spicy, citrusy aroma. I’m not really sure of the actual style of the beer, but the flavor was reminiscent of a weissbier fortified with top shelf vodka; refreshing with an alcohol-soaked boot to the sinuses. All in all, this is a great limited edition brew if you can get your hands on it, and I’m pretty sure that it’s the one that did me in for the night: at 9% abv, this is not a force to be trifled with.
